Dan Dunleavy is a solid play-by-play guy. He's just not anywhere near as dynamic as Rick Jeanneret, nor will he ever be. It doesn't matter who the choice to replace him was going to be, it was always going to be the wrong one. Dunleavy just happens to be the guy.

Nice job Hank, think this was a good move by Adams. Butcher will fit in nicely in Granato's system.
That's why I would not be against a trade with Anaheim that has Drysdale as the main piece, we need a stud on the Right side, he would fit nicely. Calgary would be a little different Valimaki would allow you to drop Butcher to 3LD, but Pelletier would need to be atleast another piece in that deal.
Anaheim: Eichel
Buffalo: Drysdale Comtois Perreault Henrique 2022 top5 protected first rolls to 23

Forgot we got him. Hopefully he has the Sabres swag bag we gave him from last time.

I liked the justification for putting him with Pysyk. Actually could be a decent pairing, probably one pairing too high for us, but that's neither here nor there.

This is the thing that gets me. All signs point to us trading Eichel. We're battling at the cap floor at this point without him, so have to figure money comes back...plus it isn't like there aren't a dozen teams that would pay for a cap dump...BUT:

Why make the Devils retain? I don't want to think it's because Pegs is cheaping out on 900k, when we could've gotten a better draft pick there perhaps, but not sure there's another valid reason. Anyone?

He may put up some points if put in the right position but he isn't good in his end and gets lost

Also after first season he was more predictable offensively

Butcher has shown what he can do in this league already. He didn't gel with Lindy, nor his most common linemate, Connor Carrick. Granato has shown he knows how to use guys. I really like the (free) swing at Butcher. Understanding that he isn't a defensive dynamo.

He didn't do so well in his 2nd or 3rd season when ruff wasn't the coach

Really like to see Samuelsson Laaksonen playing big minutes together in Rochester next year then they could be your 3rd pair in 23

He did fine (2 seasons ago). We know he's an offensive defenseman. He was pretty sufficient driving offense.

I think it would be Power-Drysdale

as both Dahlin and Drysdale are more offensive

Drysdale is pretty good at both ends, but you could be right!!

I was hoping you'd drop by and give the inside scoop. It's interesting that his offense was better while playing 3rd pair minutes his rookie year vs borderline first pairing minutes.
